Toy Story became a household name back in 1995. Everyone wanted a Woody or a Buzz Lightyear doll. Excuse me, action figure. It was the first entirely computer-animated feature film, as well as the first feature film from Pixar. This movie jump started so many classics that would follow in it’s footsteps. Movies and shows like Pixar Popcorn, and Monsters Inc.

The Toy Story franchise got so popular that Tom Hanks couldn’t keep up with the demands for his voice. So, the creators had to find voice doubles for him to keep up with supply and demand. Luckily, his own brother stepped in to help out!

Tom Hanks even confirms on the Graham Norton Show that it’s his brother Jim that does some of the voices for Woody from Toy Story. Being a voiceover actor is hard work according to Tom. But bringing a character to life like that is a once in a lifetime chance that some people are lucky enough to experience.

So, next time you hear Woody talk, stop and take a good listen. See if you can tell if that’s actually Tom Hanks, or someone else.
