Walt Disney World Updates Policy on Wearing Face Masks While Eating and Drinking

Walt Disney World has updated their verbiage when it comes to wearing face masks in their theme parks. In the newly updated policy, Disney emphasizes that face masks may be removed while you are actively eating, meaning that you must be stationary while also maintaining social distancing. This means that guests may not eat or drink while walking around the parks anymore.

It seems as though the rather lenient ‘walking and eating/drinking’ policy is no more. In the first week of reopening it has been noted by many guests that people are taking advantage of this simple policy, and it seems as though Disney has caught onto them.

This policy will be especially important for all guests wanting to eat at the marketplace booths at the Taste of Food and Wine Festival in EPCOT. You’ll need to get your dish and find a place that is socially distant from others while in the theme park. If you find yourself needing to take an extended break from wearing a mask while at Walt Disney World, remember that there are relaxation stations throughout each individual theme park.

Guests will be turned away at the entrance of each theme park if they are not wearing a mask. Cast Members will also ask guests to fix their masks if they are not being worn properly.
