Obi-Wan Kenobi is back; and he’s bringing along some familiar faces with him! This new Star Wars series announced on Monday that it will begin filming in April. It is also bringing back two other prequel characters.
The show will be following Ewan McGregor’s version of young Obi-Wan. Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin/Darth Vader in “Attack of the Clones” and “Revenge of the Sith” will be reprising his role. Also joining him will be Anakin’s step-brother, Owen (Joel Edgerton) and Beru (Bonnie Piesse).
Other cast members include Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma (“Game of Thrones”), Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr. (“Straight Outta Compton”), Sung Kang (Han of “Fast and Furious” films), Moses Ingram (“The Queen’s Gambit”), Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie (co-director of “Uncut Gems”).
Star Wars announced the cast on their Twitter earlier this week.
According to a news release, the series will take place 10 years after “Revenge of the Sith”. Obi-Wan Kenobi had just witnessed the corruption, and downfall of his best friend Anakin.

“Ahoska” and “Rangers of the New Republic” will be coming to Disney Plus for Christmas 2021. At the end of the Mandalorian, Season 2 finale, they teased about “The Book of Boba Fett”. This series will also be heading to Disney Plus in December of 2021!
