If there was ever a perfect pair, it would be Ducky and Bunny. These two took the world by storm in Toy Story 4 (2019)! This dynamic duo captured our hearts in the most off cuff and hilarious way. Disney would be crazy not to give them their own Spin-Off series.
We first meet Ducky (voiced by Keegan-Michael Key) and Bunny (voice by Jordan Peele) at the carnival. They have spent their whole lives as carnival prizes that have never been won. They straddle the line between fully knowing they are toys, and how to interact around humans.
After escaping the carnival with Buzz, the two go with him to rescue Woody. However, their ideas of helping are quite different from the other toys. Instead of “following the rules of a toy” they suggest flat out attacking the humans! Can you imagine an entire series of them coming up with different scenarios of interacting with humans?!
Key and Peele definitely put their own spin on these beloved characters. The comedy duo have such chemistry, that I highly doubt anyone else could have done a better job. The back and forth, and constantly one-upping each other completely made the movie. At the end of the day, they make Ducky and Bunny really stand out from the rest of the toys.
Disney has started making a few new shorts in Pixar Popcorn. And one of them does feature Ducky and Bunny. It was arguably one of the better shorts to come out. Their little side quips and snarky comments are exactly what everyone is thinking. At least they say them out loud for us.
Sorry Woody and Buzz, you just might have been dethroned. What do you think? Who’s a better dynamic duo? Woody & Buzz or Ducky & Bunny? Hopefully Disney sees this amazing opportunity and will eventually take us “To Infinity, and….my foot!”
