Since Walt Disney World reopened on July 11th, there have been a lot of changes to the guest experience. Face masks are required in the parks, you must practice social distancing, and, probably the most disappointing change, there are no live shows or fireworks. However, the Indiana Jones Stunt Theater has reopened to be used as a mobile order overflow at Hollywood Studios.
The use of mobile ordering has been overhauled since the reopening to reduce the amount of crowds at restaurants. Despite these efforts many guests have ended piling up at the entrance of these restaurants while their food is being prepared. In order to reduce this problem, the Indiana Jones Theater, which is near the very popular Quick Service Restaurant Backlot Express, has reopened to house guests waiting for their orders to be fulfilled.
The theater was prepared for social distanced seating before the parks opened. To enter into this space, guests must walk through the exit of the theater closest to the Backlot Express. While the seating is socially distant from others, guests are required to wear a face mask at all times as this is NOT a relaxation station.
It seems as though all of the props are set for shows to begin, but there really is no telling when live performances will return. Guests are being encouraged to sit in this space while waiting for any mobile order they create while in Hollywood Studios.
Only time will tell if more of these spaces will open up in other parks as Disney increases capacity in the months to come. Remember to keep your distance and masks on when using this space!
