First Look: Cinderella’s Castle Makeover

One of many small projects that were completed during the elongated closure of the Disney Parks during the Covid-19 pandemic was the fresh coat of paint recieved by Cinderella’s Castle in Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. A staple of any scrapbook from a Disney family trip, the centerpiece of Disney World’s Magic Kingdom bared it’s grey and light pink towers and dark-ish blue spires for decades on end.

After many preview and construction photos and videos during quarantine, the castle was on full display in it’s new bright colors and explosive gold embroideries as the cast member preview began on Tuesday. As Walt Disney World prepares to celebrate it’s 50th anniversary next year, Cinderella’s Castle is the first of many changes and upgrades to commemorate five decades of success.
