Disney Unveils Opening Dates!

Disney World has unveiled its proposed opening dates of July 11 – 15. The reopening will happen in phases, with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom hoping to open July 11, and if all goes well, Hollywood Studios and EPCOT will open July 15. The good news is that they’ll be open. However, there will be some changes that visitors will encounter.

The first change, is that guests will need a reservation to enter the park, as each will be operating at a limited capacity. Entrance into the parks will require temperature checks as seen at the Disney Springs reopening. Masks will also be required at all times, by guests over the age of 2, except to eat or drink. Play areas around the parks will be closed. Final changes will include the cancellation of parades, fireworks, and character meet and greets.

The plan was approved by the Orange County Economic Recovery Task force today, but must be approved by Gov. Ron DeSantis before Disney can give guests the “Ok,” to plan their visits. Disney plans to have a soft reopening for select guests before the July dates in order to test their safety protocols, before opening up to a larger number of guests. For those who were planning trips over the summer, this is great news, but, it remains to be seen what limited capacity will look like, and many are wondering if the Disney Magic will be the same. Hopefully, Disney fans will see the Disney Magic in the care and attention that went into allowing our parks to be open again, and will come to the parks with smiles on their faces!
