As you have likely seen already on Facebook, Twitter or anywhere else on the news, a 6-year old from Wyoming made headlines last week when he heroically stepped in front of his 4-year old sister as a dog was charging and likely saved her life. Bridger Walker received 90 stitches in a two-hour surgery after surviving the dog attack.
My nephew is a hero who saved his little sister from an attacking dog,” Bridger’s aunt Nicole Walker posted on Instagram, along with pair of photos with the two siblings. “He, himself, took on the attack so that the dog wouldn’t get his sister”. He later said, ‘If someone was going to die, I thought it should be me’.”
Walker’s act has been lauded by celebrities and personalities around the world including some of the more famous Avengers including Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Holland (Spider Man), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk) and Chris Evans (Captain America) who have taken to social media to thank Bridger for being an incredible brother and stepping in front of danger.
Taking it a step further, Chris Evans sent Bridger a personalized message and noted that he would be sending him an authentic Captain America shield because, as Evans stated, “Pal, you deserve it”. Bridger’s family captured his reaction to Evans’ video with Walker fittingly wearing a Captain America costume:
Bridger’s aunt (Nicole) continues to share more stories about Bridger and some of the messages being sent to the young hero which you find here on her Instagram page.
