Between Special Olympic's efforts towards inclusion, and Disney's ability to make dreams come true, it only makes sense that it's perfect location to hold such an amazing event! The exciting 50th anniversary of these Games will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, FL June 5-12, 2022.
As well as hosting, Disney is also proud to be the Presenting Partner of the 2022 USA Games Volunteer program. This should come as no surprise to any of the thousands of dedicated volunteers, supporters, and fans since Disney has always had an outstanding relationship with the Games from providing their magic via partnerships, sponsorships, support, and even employee volunteers!
The logo and hashtag have taken the lead in creativity. The logo was actually designed by previous Games’ athletes, and you can also follow developments and building excitement by searching or using the hashtag #ShineAsOne!
For over 5 decades, Special Olympics has strived to fulfil their mission by not only providing the Games, but foster inclusion and acceptance of all people. The Special Olympics mission: “The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.”
Between Special Olympic's heroic efforts towards inclusion, and Disney's undeniable ability to make dreams come true, it only makes sense that WDW is the perfect location to hold such an amazing event!
