Walt Disney World Closing March 16th, 2020 Over COVID-19 Pandemic!

Breaking News: Walt Disney World Resort announced yesterday evening that they will be closing down Walt Disney World theme parks effective March 16th, 2020! They will be shutdown for the rest of March and hope to reopen in April. The resorts, as of now, will remain open following March 16th.

The press release is as follows:

“In an abundance of caution and in the best interest of our guests and employees, we are proceeding with the closure of our theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Paris Resort, beginning at the close of business on Sunday, March 15, through the end of the month,” a Disney spokesperson said in a statement.

With the country being gripped over this deadly virus, it is very reassuring that Disney is taking it seriously and even going above and beyond by continuing to pay their cast members during this time.

This will be the first time in history all the Disney theme parks around the world have closed during the same time frame. As we learn more about this matter we will keep you updated!
