Tangled is finally coming to Disney Parks; and it’ll be better than just bathrooms! Disney fans fell in love with Rapunzel and Eugene over 10 years ago. And so far, we’ve only gotten a quick service restaurant in Shanghai, and some nice bathrooms at Magic Kingdom in Disney World. However, we’ve been told that much more is coming!
At a shareholders meeting earlier this week, Disney CEO, Bob Chapek, confirmed details about the upcoming Fantasy Springs expansion that’s coming to Tokyo DisneySea.
Chapek said- ” …at Tokyo Disney Resort, the largest expansion ever for Tokyo DisneySea is underway, Fantasy Springs as its called, will feature new areas and attractions inspired by the worlds of Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan’s Neverland, and is set to open in 2023.“
Visitors to the new area will be greeted with Rapunzel’s tower high above a fairytale inspired courtyard. The building on the left looks a bit like the Snuggly Duckling. It will more than likely be like Shanghai Disney’s Tangled Tree Tavern.
This upcoming port (Fantasy Springs) will join the other seven ports at Tokyo DisneySea.
There is even talk of a Tangled themed ride!
Guests will board gondolas for a romantic boat tour of Rapunzel’s “best day ever” as Rapunzel journeys with Flynn Rider to the lantern festival. Countless flickering lanterns illuminate the attraction’s climactic scene while Rapunzel and Flynn sing the iconic song “I See the Light.”
Who knows- maybe they might even put in a Tangled themed roller coaster! Either way, this new land is set to open in 2023!
