Tyler Perry will be jumping on board as a producer for the project. Perry has been creatively involved in twenty two movies, twenty plays, and eight television shows. Not to mention, he built a three hundred and thirty acre movie studio complex last year in Atlanta.

Whoopi actually teased about Sister Act 3 back in October to James Corden. She said, “For a long time they kept saying no one wanted to see it. Then, quite recently, it turns out that that may not be true. People might want to see it. So we’re working diligently to figure out how to get the gang together. Listen– bad singing, great singing. Okay singing, and the nuns. What’s better than that?”

The first Sister Act (1992) has Deloris giving up her job as a lounge singer and going into Witness Protection after witnessing a murder. The police decide to put her in a strict convent, as a nun, thinking it’d be the last place anyone would look for her. While she’s there, she befriends many of the nuns, and helping out their choir in the process.

Sister Act 2 (1993) follows Deloris as she’s asked to come back and help the nuns once more. This time, as a choir teacher at St. Francis Academy. There, she transforms a group of unruly kids into an iconic choir.

Only time will tell if this third films sees Deloris saving another choir.
