To Infinity and Beyond! Who can believe that it’s already been 25 years since we’ve met fan favorites Woody and Buzz Lightyear! Toy Story has become a classic in many of our media libraries. The memorable yellow, blue, and red logo resonates with the exciting adventure the toys have taken us on. However, that logo almost had a different look!

The original plans for the Toy Story logo were to go with a lighter color scheme including the white lettering, and the yellow background behind the word “story” rather than the red. As seen on the sketch below the original color scheme did not make the final cut.

The other piece of art they were not set on was the Planet Pizza truck. The yellow truck had a few alternative ideas prior to the final decision. It does seem they knew the type of car they wanted, just were indecisive on color.

Both a red and blue color scheme were considered, however, in the end, the yellow iconic delivery truck we know and love proved to be victorious. The image below shows a sketch closer to the final product. We’re glad they decided to pick up that yellow pencil.
