Did you enjoy following along with Joe Gardner and 22 in ‘Soul‘? The latest Disney Pixar classic will be coming to EPCOT in February as Joe Gardner leads you through the history of Jazz in the America pavilion in the all new exhibit ‘The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure‘.
You’ll join Joe Gardner, the lead character from the Disney-Pixar film “Soul” on a musical tour across America. with stops in New Orleans, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and Puerto Rico. “The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure” will allow guests to “explore the colorful and surprising history of jazz,” Carmen Smith, Creative Executive and VP, Creative Development and Inclusive Strategies for Walt Disney Imagineering said in the announcement video.
Soul is directed by Pete Docter and co-directed by Kemp Powers, the film stars the voices of Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Graham Norton, Rachel House, Questlove, Angela Bassett and more. The story follows a middle school music teacher named Joe Gardner, who seeks to reunite his soul and his body after they are accidentally separated, just before his big break as a jazz musician. Soul is the first Pixar film to feature an African-American protagonist.
The American Pavilion has not undergone many changes in recent years. Most recently, The Golden Dream montage and theme song were updated again in early 2018 to feature footage of more recent notable figures, including the Obamas, Mark Zuckerberg, Madonna, and Elon Musk, among others.
