This is what dreams are made of! After 15 years since it’s final episode aired on the Disney Channel, Lizzie McGuire and her family are back! Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine, and Jake Thomas are rejoining Hilary Duff and seeing pics of the whole family back together gives us all the feels!
Hilary Duff helped make the big announcement at D23 regarding the reboot of the show that made her famous, and that she is “overwhelmed with all of the heartfelt congrats and the excitement” being shown by loyal fans!
The show will be exclusive to the new Disney+ streaming services, and is slated to be released in 2020.
We know is the show will revolve around Lizzie again, along with her cartoon alter-ego in the same iconic outfit, living her best life and offering up advice as she did before. This time it will be more grown up, since she will be turning 30. She will be living in Manhattan, working as an assistant to a fancy New York City decorator, and will have a Soho restaurant chef fiancee who is *GASP* NOT GORDO!!! Casting surprises are also in store for guest appearances.
Hilary Duff explained in an interview to People, “The conversations have gone on for a couple of years and the timing just didn’t seem right and now Lizzie is turning 30,” she continued, “I think it’s the right time to set back in and have her go along with you in your 30s and all the fun times, and all of the big monumental moments, and all of the challenges that you’re faced with.”
We think it’s the right time too, Hilary! What are your thoughts? Share them in the comments below or come join “Just Disney” over on social media!
