Our wish has been granted! Even though there are already over over 4,000 viewing hours worth of content on Disney+, we can now get excited about 128 more minutes that will leave us “Speechless” when the live-action remake of “Aladdin” is added to the list sooner than we were hoping! (Click here to view the current list on Disney+.)
Despite mixed reviews from critics and fans upon release, the 2019 live-action remake of the 1992 animated classic made the studio over 1 billion dollars worldwide at box offices, and boasting a budget of $183 million.
When Disney+ launched, it included the 1995 animated classic, and fans have been begging on social media everywhere they could post asking for the date this live-action was going to be added.
The film is already available on digital download, DVD, and Blu-Ray formats and now we know it will be coming to Disney+ December 29, 2019 for the Netherlands. It will be released January 8, 2020 for the US, Canada, and Australia, and fans in New Zealand will have it January 18, 2020. UK fans will have to wait for the service to begin on March 31, 2020 before being able to watch any content on the service. (There is also going to be an “Aladdin” live-action spin off series on Disney+, but that has actually caused some controversy among fans, so to read more about the issue, click here.)
It was also announced the live-action “The Lion King” is also coming to Disney+. Since neither will be available to stream until after Christmas, we’ve put together a list to hold you over of every single Christmas title on Disney+.
Remember if there is something else you’d like to see added to the streaming service to follow our step-by-step guide to file a formal request by clicking here.
