Masked Singer fans were in for a real treat. If you’ve never watched the show, maybe you should. I love it! It features judges trying to guess who various celebrities are. They get a couple of clues, but their biggest one is hearing them sing each week. Their bodies are concealed by crazy and ridiculous costumes. Some costumes in the past have been a ladybug, a poodle, and even a robot.

Season 5 started off with a HUGE shocker! The first elimination was the snail. I don’t think there’s ever been a reveal as crazy as this. It was our own Muppet Star Kermit!

Kermit, of course, did not sing his most well known song, Rainbow Connection. That would have been a dead giveaway. Instead, he sang You Make My Dreams (Come True) by Hall and Oats. And boy did he belt that out!

Entertainment Weekly shared a statement from Kermit following our favorite amphibians elimination:

“I’ve done movies, television and a lot of things in my career, but as hard as it is to believe I had never gotten inside a snail costume and tried to fool judges on Masked Singer. So, when this opportunity came up, I leaped at the chance. Never let it be said that this frog shirked a challenge….or is it ‘challenged a shirk?’ In any case, that’s how it happened.”

Kermit even hopped on Twitter to share the news himself.

If you missed it, or just want to watch it again, here is Kermit singing You Make My Dreams (Come True). I’ll say it again, Kermit’s got chops!
