There are a TON of new attractions that are coming to Epcot in the future. Walt Disney World announced back in February of 2019 that a new futuristic ‘play pavilion’ will be making its way into the theme park. Among these new attractions, an unexpected one has been revealed. A new monorail themed attraction could be coming to Epcot in 2021!
In a YouTube video made by Imaginerding, the host highlighted the new book The Disney Monorail: Imagineering A Highway in the Sky by Jeff Kurtti, Vanessa Hunt, and Paul Wolski . This book features the story and history of how the iconic transportation was created and engineered. The book was released to certain viewers, but is going to be available to the public on September 1, 2020.
As the host in this video flips through the entirety of the book, the last page shows a teaser of what’s to come at the play pavilion at Epcot. A poster with three monorails are shown, which are to be called the Monorail Mark X. The new addition is slated to make its way to the theme park in 2021.
However, since the closing of all of Disney’s theme parks, due to the coronavirus, has costed the company nearly $3 billion many of their previous proposed projects have been scrapped. It wouldn’t be crazy to say that this project could also be gone, but considering that it’s in the new book we can remain hopeful.
It should be reiterated that this is just a teaser and that no real confirmation has come from the Walt Disney Company. We will keep you updated on any new information we hear.
There are so many new additions coming to Epcot that we are extremely excited for! The theme park will be revitalized and hopefully the construction will be over soon. We can’t wait to see what the Monorail Mark X will look like!
