One of the highlights of visiting any Disney Park is seeing or getting to meet characters. Unfortunately, with the new Park safety precautions, guests won’t be able to directly interact with characters for meet and greets. To still give guests the chance to see their favorites in person, Disney implemented increased character cruises/ cavalcades in accordance to social distancing measures.
Today, Merida was seen riding her horse down Main Street waving to guests during one of these cavalcades. In a video posted on YouTube by Bill Zanetti, Merida’s horse got caught in a balloon and became frantic.
Zanetti described the video with the caption “Merida’s Horse Gets Caught in a Balloon at Disney World Magic Kingdom During Small Princess Parade. A toddler ran out into the parade route. The father grabbed the toddler to safety, but the balloon the toddler was carrying kept going into the route and spooked the horse. Both Merida and the horse were okay.”
Thankfully, all parties involved were unharmed and the rest of the parade went on without a hitch. Accidents happen and luckily the situation did not escalate due to quick thinking cast members.
It’s strange to see Magic Kingdom so empty. Usually Main Street is packed with guests crowding to catch a glimpse of the passing parades. Decreased capacity is just one of the safety measures to keep guests and cast members safe. Hopefully in the near future, Disney Parks will be able to return to normal operation.
