Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs has closed it’s doors after a recent soft opening. They were one of the most recent additions to the Downtown Disney area. They closed their doors yesterday, January 2nd, and there’s no news yet of a Grand Opening date.
Gideon’s Bakehouse is best known for their ingredient rich, from-scratch, “almost half pound” cookies that take over 24 hours to create. Their from-scratch cookies start at $6.00, while their cakes start at $8.00. They also have some soda shop offerings, as well as some brewhouse coffee.
Gideon’s Bakehouse took to social media to announce their closure and give a few details about what is going on.

We are still in soft opening mode. We’ve learned a great deal over our holiday test run and are so grateful to everyone for making it a huge success. Our opening was beyond our expectations. We are putting on the brakes to deal with behind-the-scenes logistics before our Grand Opening. Keep an eye out for more news.
With all the knowledge they gained from their soft opening, hopefully they will be able to work everything out that they need to and Gideon’s Bakehouse will open again very soon.
