Walt Disney World is changing the Rise of Resistance again! Ever since Hollywood Studios presented us with Galaxy’s Edge and the life changing ride : Rise of the Resistance, the park has been busy as ever! Before COVID hit, Hollywood Studios changed the park hours to 8am to accommodate the long lines that queued outside starting at 5am! The first months of the Rise of Resistance virtual queue started when the park opened, and with some good luck, you got a boarding pass to ride the ride at a certain time. This sorta worked for those lucky guests with boarding passes 1 thru 100 but it never guaranteed a ride because the ride had a few kinks to work thru the first few weeks. Nevertheless, the Rise of the Resistance became the number one ride in the galaxy!
As of today, Disney has changed the distribution times to 10am and 2pm. Guests in the park hoping for a spot will only be allowed to join the virtual queue at those times. Many have noticed that even with multiple distribution windows, guests are stilling having a hard time acquiring a boarding pass. This update from Disney came because of guests’ frustrations about the virtual queue line filling up so quickly. A statement made from Disney explains that due to the added physical distancing measures in the park, Rise of the Resistance cannot accommodate as many guests as it could before the closures.
Remember you have to be in Hollywood Studios to reserve a spot in the virtual queue line at either 10am or 2pm. Make sure you have a park ticket and are using the My Disney Experience App when trying to get a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance! Good luck to all and May the Force Be with You!
