Disney Plus’s ‘Zenimation’ Is The Zen-tastic Meditation You Never Knew You Needed

Have you ever wanted to experience the sights and sounds of Disney’s most beloved movies? With Disney Plus’s new 10 mini episode series “Zenimation”, you can do exactly that. Disney created ‘Zenimation’ as a tribute to the visual and sound artists who have created Walt Disney Animation Studios’ legacy of films. The opening title screen reads ‘Refresh your senses with a moment of mindfulness’. When you press play you won’t hear jubilant Disney music and singing. Instead, you are whisked far away to the serene, vibrant, and busy landscapes of Disney movies from a variety of genres. Combined with real world sounds, “Zenimation” is the perfect escape for us that are supposed to be staying home. The release of this homage of a mini-series comes at the perfect time when you consider all that is going on in the world.

As of right now, there are 10 different episodes each themed to a different Zen mantra. You’ll get to visit a variety of Disney landscapes ranging from the snowy, icy forests of Arrendale, to the lush island of Motunui from Moana. You’ll experience the breathtaking sights and sounds of these fantastical Disney worlds as if you were there. My personal favorite was the “Night” themed episode. I’ve always found a sense of peace when the sun goes down and the world is quiet. The sounds of chirping crickets in Louisiana’s bayou fills the room as we are shown Princess Tiana’s beautiful restaurant lighting up the night sky. What better time to perceive the true artistic nature of Disney movies than now, while we’re all at home yearning to getaway.

Each mini episode runs about 5 minute, the perfect length for a much needed meditation session. Get cozy, turn down the lights and enjoy the sights and sounds of ‘Zenimation’.
