Disney Cast members are all about this new announcement. Disney has decided to update their park dress code for their employees. This is being done in an effort to make it’s guests and employees feel even more welcome at the parks.
In a blog post on Tuesday, Josh D’Amaro wrote: “Moving forward, we believe our cast, can provide the best of Disney. It’s legendary guest service when they have more options for personal expression. Creating richer, more personal and more engaging experiences with our guests.”
Anyone who has worked at a Disney property know about the “four keys”- safety, courtesy, show, and efficiency. This is employee etiquette that is used to provide a seamless guest experience.
“We want our guests to see their own backgrounds and traditions reflected in the stories, experiences and products they encounter in their interactions with Disney,” D’Amaro said. “And we want our cast members – and future cast members – to feel a sense of belonging at work.”
Disney has always had a strict policy on dress codes for their employees. Now, Disney cast members will be able to choose their hairstyle, jewelry, and even nail styles. Of course, they will need to abide by some previous rules. Such as, hair needing to be natural colors. Or making sure their nametag is never covered.
Likewise, this includes being able to show tattoos. “The world is changing, and will change with it” said D’Amaro. So, next time you head to a park, you’ll notice a difference in some of the cast members.
Disneyland is set to open at the end of this month (April 30th) for California residents.
