Construction Resumes on Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

Amazing news for Disney fans and Star Wars fans alike! Construction has resumed on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel at Disney World. You’ll remember that in March, all construction was halted due to coronavirus, and some projects were delayed or scrapped altogether. We can all breathe a sigh of relief though, as Disney has begun fabrication and set installation on the long awaited project.

The Galactic Starcruiser is to be an immersive 2 – day/2 – night, Star Wars adventure, where guests will be able to live their Star Wars fantasy, exploring the galaxy on The Halcyon, and making a stop at Batuu. When construction was halted in March, fans were worried that the 2021 opening date was looking unlikely, especially after some projects had their funding removed.

Its looking like those worries are unfounded though, as a notice of commencement was filed with Orange County a few days ago, to go ahead and continue working on the project. Rumors are swirling that Disney wants it opened up as soon as possible to combat the loss of venue from the parks being closed for so long. For those hoping to plan their Star Wars vacation, this is great news, and hopefully more good news is to follow!
