Jerry Bruckheimer confirms that a ‘National Treasure 3’ script is in the works, with Nicolas Cage reprising his role.
After all, Nicolas Cage might be back in the National Treasure franchise for another adventure.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer disclosed that they are currently working on a script for National Treasure 3 during a Reddit AMA for Top Gun: Maverick.

“Any plans to work with Nicolas Cage again any time soon?” Bruckheimer responded, “Absolutely. I love Nicolas, he’s a brilliant actor and we are currently working on a script for National Treasure.”
With Disney+ currently filming a series set in the same universe as the movies, Cage wasn’t so sure a third National Treasure movie would happen back in March. He also mentioned that his phone stopped ringing for projects like National Treasure, Ghost Rider, and Sorcerers Apprentice. However, Nicolas Cage has experienced a renaissance, with his most recent picture, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, receiving positive reviews from critics and fans alike. Cage’s acting in the independent drama Pig gained great acclaim. Renfield, Universal’s newest monsterverse film, also has him connected.
