“Gordo was an essential piece of the puzzle to what made the original Lizzie McGuire so authentic and beloved. I couldn’t imagine the series without him,” said Hilary Duff, star and executive producer of the highly anticipated Disney+ series. “I can’t wait for fans to see what he’s up to 15 years later and how he fits into Lizzie’s adult world.”
As we previously reported, the series was announced at this year’s D23 expo. The plot follows Lizzie as a 30 year-old working her dream job and living in Brooklyn. We were previously told as part of the new plot, she has a fiance who is NOT Gordo but maybe his role will shake that up! The original cast of Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine, and Jake Thomas will return as her supportive family as well!
