Cast Member previews began today, and boy are we getting all the updates we’ve been dying to see! Disney announced their new modifications to the guest experience a couple of months ago, but today we got our first taste at these modifications. One of these changes includes ‘character cruises/cavalcades’ in place of the regular character meet-and-greets. This new procedure will have characters on floats who will wave at guests from afar. Some of these floats will stop for a distanced ‘selfie’, but guests are being encouraged to watch these cruises/cavalcades as they walk through the parks in order to practice social distancing.
Here’s a glimpse at what the ‘character cruises’ look like at Animal Kingdom.
Here is a look at what the ‘character cavalcades’ look like at Magic Kingdom.
On the Disney World website there are some lengthy guides to their new procedures and expectations that every guest should carefully read over before heading to the parks. More specifically, this highlights what entertainment experiences will be available at each park. Parades, character meet-and-greets, and firework shows at night will be unavailable in these initial months of reopening.
As described below, the character cavalcades will continually pass by throughout the day in certain areas of each park. No need to worry about missing your favorite character because these passings will happen all day!
