The fight with the Actor’s Equity Union is causing even more closings at Disney. After the replacement of the Disney Jr. Dance Party and possible closure of Voyage of the Little Mermaid, another show has just been replaced. The “Disney Society Orchestra and Friends” show is currently standing in for Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage.
The show is approximately 17 minutes long, shorter than the Beauty and the Beast show. It features orchestra members playing various Disney songs, and ends with a visit from Beast and Belle, with a few other characters. It seems to just be another casualty of no actors working at the parks.
As more shows are changed/cancelled, park goers are begging Disney to come to an agreement with the Actor’s Equity Union. Hopefully, an agreement would mean Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage could return. If not, it’s a show that will be severely missed.
