A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King is heading back to Animal Kingdom! Cast members are excited to be back and rehearsing for the new, modified, version of the show.
Walt Disney World president, Jeff Vahle, posted to Instagram sharing that the famed show will be back Mid May. Entertainment is slowly continuing to return to the parks, and we’re excited for this one.
The Harambe Theatre at Animal Kingdom is proud to finally be bringing back “A Celebration Festival of the Lion King”. A modified format will be implemented to be mindful of our current lives. Everything about the show, from backstage to updates on choreography will allow for appropriate physical distancing. The theatre itself, of course, will have seating in place to help with social distancing as well.
Jeff Vahle, and Vice President Sarah Riles stopped by the theatre this morning to check it out. Everyone is so excited for the troupe to be back and getting into the swing of things.
Jeff writes: “Our cast is finally back in rehearsals for “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King,” preparing for the show’s mid-May debut as entertainment continues to return across Walt Disney World. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Vice President Sarah Riles and I stopped in to welcome them recently. Hearing that wonderful, familiar music put a lump in my throat. We are, of course, thrilled to have these talented Cast Members back on our stage!”
Hold on to your hakuna matata, and get ready for a wild experience coming back to us Mid May.
