Harrison Ford will reprise his role as our favorite archeologist, Dr. Henry Walton Jones Jr. Ford, who also starred in another Lucasfilm Classic- Star Wars- has played the adventurer for the other four films: Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Temple of Doom (1984), The Last Crusade (1989), and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).

The Early Years

In 1977, George Lucas and his friend/colleague Steven Spielberg were both vacationing in Maui. Spielberg told Lucas his idea in making a James Bond Film. But Lucas had an idea that was “better than James Bond”. He then told Spielberg the outline for Raiders of the Lost Ark. Within two years, the friends had made a deal with Paramount Pictures for five Indiana Jones films. Forty three years later, and the final installment will be in theatres.

In Production

The film has had plenty of ups and down, even before the Coronavirus delayed production. DisInsider had this to say:

…David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Spider-Man, Mission: Impossible) was originally tapped to write but left the project, Jonathan Kasdan then stepped in to write a new draft, before leaving the project, bring Koepp back in and again finally leaving the project once Mangold took over from Spielberg… we know its crazy. It is unknown if Mangold will work off Koepp or Kasdan’s scripts. Though it is possible Mangold writes it himself, he received an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay for his work on Logan.
