New Look for ‘Figment’

“One Day at Disney” on Disney+ recently gave fans a look at the testing process for picking a new look for ‘Figment.’ Figment is the purple dragon mascot of EPCOT.

The first iteration we got to see is a simplistic version of Figment. His eyes are less pronounced than the Figment we currently see in the parks. The Disney Parks team then reviewed this version. They reviewed it, and asked for some changes. The second iteration is similar to the first, but is bigger, and even more simple than the first. It is currently testing on VR. This explains the simplicity behind the design.

When asked if we’d see this verion of Figment in the park, Disney said, “Disney’s research and development organizations are constantly exploring new ways to bring stories and characters to life. They often use Disney IP in various forms to test new technology and its capabilities, which is what the StudioLab was doing as part of this episode.
