On Friday, August 28th, 2020 actor Chadwick Boseman tragically lost his battle with colon cancer. It was a battle he courageously fought in secret. Boseman was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer back in 2016 but continued to act despite going through treatments. During that time, he starred in Marshall, Da 5 Bloods, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and countless other projects. Despite all he was going through, he still managed to do something he was truly passionate about.
One of Boseman’s most memorable roles was bringing Black Panther to life. He portrayed the character in Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. His superhero co-stars took to social media to share their thoughts and prayers to their friend.

“Chadwick was not only a deeply soulful and powerful actor, but he was such a kind, thoughtful, funny, and gentle person. He brightened every ones day every time he walked into our hair and makeup trailer or on set with his beautiful smile. My heart goes out to his wife and entire family for such an unimaginable loss. Our collective Marvel family is absolutely heartbroken.”
