Today, it was announced that Disney is moving forward with its “Haunted Mansion” reboot.
The live – action movie is going to be a theatrical release. The directors are Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich. The duo directed the live action “Aladdin.” They’re also set to direct the upcoming, live – action “Lilo & Stitch.” In addition, Katie Dippold just got announced as the writer. She’s the writer behind “Ghostbusters” and “The Heat.”
The original “Haunted Mansion” is based off the popular ride at Disneyland and Disney World. It’s a loose interpretation of the source material, and was not a success at the box office. We don’t know much about the reboot. However, it’s safe to assume it’s a comedy, as that is Dippold’s specialty.
As the ride is such a popular attraction at the parks, the assumption is a new movie would be a refreshing addition to the Disney fandom. Are you excited for the “Haunted Mansion” reboot? Let us know!
