On August 20th, we reported that Disneyland Resort hotels were starting to accept reservations. Now, it seems Disneyland is prepping it’s gates to open. Although there is no timeline, workers are busy installing health and safety measures. Physical distancing measures were installed at the entrances of both Disney California Adventure and Disneyland.
At the Disneyland entrance, workers are installing plexiglass and social distancing markers. Because the entrance turnstiles are not 6 ft. apart. The plexiglass will help keep cast members and guests from being in close proximity to each other. Inside the park, there will likely be plexiglass at any queue where social distancing would be difficult. This includes rides like Pirates of the Caribbean, “It’s a Small World,” and Space Mountain.
There is more work than just social distancing measures done at the park. Construction workers have returned to the park. It’s likely they are working on rides that were already scheduled for refurbishment. These include King Arthur’s Carousel, Snow White’s Scary Adventure, and Haunted Mansion. In addition, Town Hall has scaffolding up around it for refreshments.
It will be interesting to see what measures Disneyland implements in order to keep guests and staff members safe. Are you excited for Disneyland to reopen? Let us know below!
