Calling all members of the Resistance! An update has been given on the virtual queueing process for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios. Many people have been questioning whether or not the use of virtual queueing will be used for every single ride, but it seems as though Disney will still only be using it for one of their most popular attractions.
The virtual queueing process will be slightly different from what was in place before the pandemic. Getting a spot in the virtual queue will still be housed on the My Disney Experience app, however there will be designated times in the day in which these passes will drop (10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.). This is to eliminate the need for getting to the parks extremely early and creating large crowds in the entrance of the park, as well as the attraction itself.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to secure your boarding pass in the Resistance:
- You must be physically inside Hollywood Studios to secure your boarding pass during the distribution times of 10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 4 p.m.
- Once inside, open your My Disney Experience app to the ‘Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue’ on the home screen.
- Once this is selected, the tab will take you through various steps in securing your boarding pass.
The My Disney Experience app will send you a notification when your boarding group has been called. From that point, guests will have exactly one hour to make their way to the entrance of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Just as the process worked before, each guest enrolled into the virtual queue will only be allowed to experience the ride one time per day.
The app will also inform guests when boarding groups have run out for the specific distribution time. Backup boarding groups will still be utilized for the virtual queue, so there is no guarantee that you will be able to experience the ride. Guests are being encouraged to enjoy other attractions in the park while they wait for their boarding group to be called.
Hollywoods Studios and Epcot will be opening July 15th to those with park reservations. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom opened their doors today, July 11th.
