Meaning, I’m pretty much as calm as Winifred Sanderson right now over this news! It was recently released exclusively to Collider that Jen D’Angelo, a writer and co-producer of Workaholics, has already been hired by Disney to write the script for Hocus Pocus 2.

Collider reports the movie is already under way, and will be released on Disney+. There is no official release date since it is only in the initial development stage, but this is a step in the right direction! The original Hocus Pocus from 1993 is already on the list for the streaming service that launches November 12, 2019. For a complete list of all titles, read here: Complete List of Disney+ content

The original Hocus Pocus did not put a spell on box offices back in 1993, but 26 years later, the film has developed a massive cult following. Demands for a sequel have fans running amuck, causing may false rumors and fake memes to spread every year on social media. The movie’s popularity has led to media sales, rentals, highly sought-after merchandise (including a Dooney and Bourke line), and has even led to the creation of the Sanderson Sister’s own Halloween holiday show “Villain Spelltacular” at Walt Disney World!

It is still too early in development over at Disney+ to confirm whether Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, or Kathy Najimy will reprise their roles as the Sanderson Sister witch trio, but D’Angelo has been tasked with convincing them to be a part of it in at least ‘some’ capacity. Even if they aren’t playing their original roles, I think the fans will agree with me in settling for at LEAST a cameo. We’re not worthy!!!
