With the reopening of the Walt Disney World parks, the company has decided that Cast Members will be eligible for a 50% discount off merchandise from July 5th until the 31st at Disney-owned stores on property. This is certainly a step up from the usual 20% off merchandise discount. Released recently, we learned the news that Cast Members will be unable to use their Main Gate passes until the end of September, so this update comes bitter-sweetly.
Furloughed workers are ecstatic to be back to work, as one Adventureland Cast Member noted in a Welcome Back video, “my heart seriously is beating.” We can’t wait to be back in the parks, and we know the cast can’t either. It is only a matter of time until Walt Disney World is back on track the way we know and love. It begins soon!
