Fans need to “Be Prepared,” because the live-action “The Lion King” is coming to Disney+, and now we know when!
Since Disney+ first launched in November, fans have been adamantly vocal on social media about their wishes for the live action to be added to the streaming service, and all good things come to those who wait.
Disney’s 2019 live-action remake of their 1994 animated classic of Simba taking his rightful place as king raked in well over $1.6 billion dollars across the globe at box offices around the world.
It is already available for digital download and DVD and Blu-Ray discs, and now Disney+ subscribers in the Netherlands can stream it starting February 22, 2020. It will be released to subscribers in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand starting February 28, 2020. (We will have the live-action Aladdin on Disney+ sooner than this to hold you over.)
It will join the Disney+ catalog of over 600 movies and shows already available including classics and original content across the Disney universe including Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, Disney classics, and Pixar.
