Homeowners and Annual Passholders at both Disneyland and WDW, Francis and Jessica Brown, decided to combine their love of holidays along with their love of Disney to create a truly spectacular Halloween display for all to enjoy! Jessica tells Colleen at Just Disney, “Our favorite ride out of all the parks is Haunted Mansion especially when it has the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay during the holidays at Disneyland.”

She continued, “We found our dream home 4 years ago and had always hoped to go all out with decorations for the holidays in hopes to bring families from all over to our home to celebrate the holidays and love of Disney with us… All of our décor is outside our house in the front yard and the front of our house, making it come alive.”

Bringing this incredible display to all this ghoulish splendor takes a lot of time, hard work, and some seriously talented friends. The Browns enlist the help of their friends in the prop-making business, Aerin and Eric Major of Therascapes Designs, to bring their annual visions to life. “They are the creative artists that sculpt and paint our bigger pieces.”

They even included their family into the spooky décor, including full-sized Tim Burton-esque statues of themselves and their 3 children to the front stoop. Check out their sculptures of their dogs!

This is not an overnight set up, as the entire process actually takes months to prepare! Jessica explains, “Every summer we meet together and get out our lists we’ve made of the all the new additions we want for the upcoming season. We usually have to narrow it down and then plans are drawn up and building commences.”

“Usually beginning of September things start going up. It takes a couple weeks to get everything in place plus adding all the trimmings (lights, interactive pieces, this year we even added sweet smells!).”

If you want to visit, you’ll love what the homeowners charge. In lieu of payment, the family requests donations they can bring to their local charity. “We collect donations for Sojourner Center which is an organization that supports families affected by domestic violence and human trafficking. We collect new unwrapped toys, diapers, new or gently used clothing and new bedding in hopes that they can bring stability and joy to their holidays and families.”

Flying Zeros, singing pumpkins, photo ops, and over 800lbs of candy that will be given out this year means this is something you HAVE to visit in person (just don’t end up being a villain by forgetting your donation for the Sojourner Center)!
